Tree Nursery
Enviro Wild established a small tree nursery in Kukwembei Village of Baringo County, run by volunteers and young kids from within the village. The trees are mainly exotic and fruit trees.
Tree growing at Holy family Ngetmoi Catholic Church
On 23rd September 2020, Enviro Wild, with the help of volunteers, engaged PMC kids from Holy family Ngetmoi Catholic church on a sensitization event on the significance of growing trees.
The team also participated in a tree planting exercise within the church compound with a commitment of nurturing the trees while planting/growing more.
Gifting the kids with Fruit Trees
On 24th September 2020, together with our volunteers, we sensitized children from Kukwembei village on the importance of growing trees with more emphasis on fruit trees.
Each child went home with a fruit tree (either mango or avocado trees).
The land in most parts of Baringo is highly fragmented and less productive. Adoption of fruit trees would promote nutritional diversity.
We are working with the same children to nurture the fruit trees while motivating them and their parents to plant more and diversify the varieties to address food insecurity.
